5-day tour: Marrakech-Ouarzazate-Merzouga
Day 1: Marrakech – Dades Gorge
A five-day trip from Marrakech to Merzouga, starting in Marrakech , will be accompanied by your guide and driver. We will head south toward Ouarzazate , towards the port of Tizi N’Tichka, which rises to an altitude of 2,260 meters. Here, you will enjoy oases, palm groves, numerous kasbahs, and the Middle Atlas landscape. We will wander through the serenity of the mountain range, where you can enjoy the Berber way of life. At each step, you will discover a new scene of daily life. Dinner and accommodation.
Day 2: Dades Gorge – Merzouga (Sahara)
After breakfast, we’ll begin our day crossing the Dades Gorge, where we’ll discover traditional villages and meet Berber nomads in the mountains. After lunch in the Todra Gorge, we’ll take the asphalt road, passing through the important Tinghir palm grove—one of the most beautiful and extensive in Morocco—to reach the city of Erfoud. From here, we’ll head to Merzouga , where we’ll have tea and then board camels to spend the night in Berber tents in the middle of the desert, stargazing and listening to the silence of the desert. A traditional Berber dinner and overnight in Berber tents.
Day 3: Merzouga – Draa Valley – Ouarzazate
Early in the morning, after watching the sunrise from the top of the sand dunes, we will return to the lodge for breakfast. Then, on to Ouarzazate, we will visit Rissani – Morocco’s economic capital and the country’s first imperial city – with its red-domed souk and numerous ksour. We will then follow the road to the village of Ennif, where we will have lunch. We will continue our journey through the magnificent Draa Valley. In the evening, we will arrive in Ouarzazate, where we will stay. Dinner and overnight.
Day 4: Ouarzazate – Taourirt Kasbah – Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah – Talouat Kasbah – Marrakech
After breakfast, we visit the Kasbah of Taourirt, a Kasbah in the center of Ouarzazate. At other times, it was the residence of the Pasha of Marrakech. It is built of adobe brick with almond towers. We visit the old quarters of the Glaoui, the dining hall, and the rooms, which retain their decorative painted stucco and ceilings made of wood and cedar. 30 km from Ouarzazate, we visit the famous Kasbah of Ait Benhaddou (UNESCO World Heritage Site). This stunning setting was the setting for many famous films such as Gladiator, Obelix, and Sahara starring Penélope Cruz. We then take a turn on a small road and, amidst the beautiful landscape, see the adobe and straw construction of the mountain villages. Visit the Kasbah of Telouat and have lunch on site. In the afternoon, we continue our journey through several Berber mountain villages until we reach the High Atlas. We continue the adventure via the port of Tizi N’Tichka (altitude 2,260 meters). We arrive in Marrakech. We have dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Day 5: End of tour and transfer to the airport
Breakfast at the hotel, then transfer to the airport for your scheduled flight to your city. The end of the tour and our services, a five-day trip from Marrakech to Merzouga in the afternoon.
