Languages in Morocco

Morocco is a multilingual country where many languages and dialects coexist. Here are the main languages spoken in Morocco.
Official languages
Standard Arabic: This is the official language of the state, according to the Constitution. It is used in administration, education, media, justice, culture, and religion.
Tamazigh (Tifinagh): It also became an official language of the state, according to the 2011 Constitution, and is considered a common heritage of all Moroccans. Efforts are underway to develop and expand its use, and public schools have begun

Moroccan Darija (Moroccan Arabic): This is the most widely spoken Arabic dialect, used in daily life and communication among Moroccans. It is the product of the historical and cultural influences the country has experienced, and contains words of Berber origin.
Berber dialects: Spoken by a large proportion of Moroccans, there are several main dialects, including
Tachelhit: spoken in the Souss and Draa Valley regions.
Tifinagh (Middle Atlas Berber): spoken in central Morocco.
Tarifit: spoken in the Rif region of northern Morocco.
Hassaniya: an Arabic dialect used in the southern regions of Morocco.

French: Considered the first foreign language in Morocco, it is widely used throughout the country, particularly in business, higher education, and administration.
Some consider it a de facto official language.
Particularly widespread in northern Morocco , such as Tangier, Tetouan and Chefchaouen, due to its geographical proximity and historical influences.
English: Increasingly widespread in Morocco, particularly among young people and in the tourism and business sectors, it is considered a language of global communication. There are calls to promote its teaching and use in
scientific fields.
